Chocolate Pecan Pie - Guest Submission: Traci Akins

We love when our customers share their favorite ways to cook with pecans and their favorite recipes. This delicious - yet easy to make - pie recipe comes from Traci Akins a dear friend who worked with Kim as a nurse at Phoebe. Give it a try - it's sure to be a crowd-pleaser!

Chocolate Pecan Pie

Ingredients:

  • 3 eggs, slightly beaten

  • 1 4oz package of Bakers sweet chocolate
    or - 4 squares of semisweet chocolate
    melted and cooled

  • 1&1/2 cup pecan halves
  • 1 cup Karo syrup
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 unbaked - 9" pie shell

Directions:

In a large glass bowl, stir eggs, syrup, chocolate, sugar, butter, and vanilla until well blended. Stir in pecans. Pour into pie shell. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes. Let cool completely before serving.
