Horne Family Classic Pecan Pie

We couldn't think of a better first recipe to share than our family's take on the classic pecan pie! Try out this recipe that makes 2 pies (that's one for your table and one to share ... or 2 to share ... or, let's be honest: 2 for your table!) and let us know what you think. Horne Family Classic Pecan Pie

(Makes 2 large pies)

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup eggs beaten well
  • 1 1/3 cup light brown sugar 
  • 1 1/3 cup light karo syrup 
  • 1 tsp. salt 
  • 2 tsp. pure vanilla
  • 3 tbsp. melted butter

Directions:

  1. Stir ingredients well
  2. Add 1 cup of pieces to pie shell
  3. Crimp edges 
  4. Pour mixture over pieces 
  5. Stir and coat pecans good
  6. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes (standard oven). [Convection oven, bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.]
